My Story
Everyone starts from somewhere. I've always loved playing video games. For me it was a distraction from the tough reality of the world, a community to meet new friends, a place where I belonged. I was always interested in game mechanics, how stunning the games always looked, how they can become so immersive the world blurs around you. I never thought I would be able to attempt to craft these masterful works of art. I would study these games I played working out how they worked game mechanics and this lead to even more of my appreciation for how they were created and problems solved.

By studying game mechanics I was able to understand the design goal of them. What developers were thinking how they were trying to accomplish certain goals. In competitive games this is what lead me to be able to achieve a high level of play. I eventually was able to earn a spot on the University of Colorado Boulder Varsity Valorant, a fps shooter by Riot games, roster. During my time at on the Valorant team I was fortunate to travel to events sponsored by various companies such as Redbull and compete. I was able to meet wonderful professionals and learn about the industry from an E-sport perspective. I was fortunate to have Zachareee, former Overwatch(by Blizzard Games) and Valorant player who played on teams such as Renegades, Fusion University, The Dallas Fuel in Overwatch as well as Faze Clan and Akrew in Valorant; coach our team. Thanks to Zachareee I was able to learn about player habits, pro level strategy and mindset, as well as how pro teams tackle innovation in games. As a team we were able to achieve a top 100 spot of all teams in North America, and were rewarded an involvement award from the University of Colorado Boulder for our team CU GOLD in 2023. Now seeing games through pro player eyes as well as casual play and a game developer I understand the complex world of games and have a good understanding of what makes good game design for everyone.

Through the University of Colorado Boulder's Creative Technology and Design  program I was able to learn design and I focused my efforts on game design! I was taught, lived, and breathed the mantra fail fast, fail often. Which focused on quick iteration and through every iteration making a better and better design. I learned the importance of feedback as well as how to communicate and work with others on teams. I was able take all the skills I learned such as programming, documenting, creating robots, and story telling and apply them to my dream of creating games. However I know everyone is a student constantly learning, innovating, adapting to create better and better games for everyone. I use problem solving skills to learn how to tackle any issue I come across making games using all available resources such as Unity's forms, stack overflow, youtube videos and customize my solution to perfectly integrate into my games and work.

Everyone starts from somewhere and here is my start in my long journey as a game developer!
